Happy FriYay!

Goodness, we have already been out of school for two weeks! I miss the kiddos! Seriously, so much that I want to invite them to swim and hang out at our house next week - Wednesday, June 11th - come around 11 AM - send sunscreen, towel, swimsuit. I will have juice, water, something for lunch and we'll swim and play. Let me know who can attend.

I want to share a quick conversation I had with one of our curriculum vendors called Rock-by-Rock that I had earlier this week. We were going over our reporting from the iReady reading assessments and she said they had 26 microschools across the country to participate in this cohort and we BY FAR surpassed (collectively) the reading growth!!! What? Wow! I am so proud of these guys and so thankful for that God-wink! I love to celebrate the hard work and this brought such a smile to my face!

Now to business...
Please find details below to get to your child's Google Drive Folder with the following: Reports from Lexia;
iReady (math and reading testing results);
Lexia "assignment" to print;
Final grades spreadsheet; and
Your child's Lexile Level (more details below on this).

Dudley Family Folder
B. Donovan Family - Rocky's Folder and Shiloh's Folder
K. Donovan Family Folder
Frost/Hart Family Folder
Kilgore Family - Cooper's Folder and Maggie's Folder

Don't fear - I am hopeful that my Google Drive "skills" have approved and/or blocked the appropriate parties to each folder. Please let me know of any issues (I am definitely human and could have missed something).

Back to that "assignment" mentioned above - I have included for each kiddos a Lexia Skill Builder or Lesson that was assigned to them in Lexia based on their recent work. Feel free to print the lesson and ask the kiddos to work on it. It will not be graded, it is simply for practice to be used at your discretion.

For Summer "work" - please have them reading anything and everything! On page 2 of the iReady Reading Diagnostic Results in your child's folder, you will find a Lexile Level for your child. This is a suggested reading level. Read here to learn about how to use Lexile Levels. Also, use this link to help understand HOW to use the Lexile find a book tool. And, finally, the Lexile website here for finding a book. Each kiddo should also complete 10 lessons in Saxon math and enter their answers in Nicole the Math Lady. I believe our subscription will end at the end of June. Eeek! I will keep you guys posted after that on where / what to do with math lessons.

Finally, our re-enrollment deposit for next year has been set at $500 per child due July 1st. Payment can be made by check, cash, or Zelle. Just reach out to me or Micah and we can help. We are working on updating the enrollment documents, finalizing the school calendar, and making a few edits to the TCA Framily Guidebook. Thank you all for your patience for this first year of re-enrollment (so many things).

Please keep praying for our staffing for next year! I have had 3 phone calls this week with potential candidates to "help" next year. Two of the three have a child they would like to consider bringing to join us. I also feel confident we will get a few inquires over the summer for new students too. Please keep sharing our post on Facebook - it really helps for exposure!

Please consider joining us on Friday, July 4th outside TCA as the Carrollton Parade will come right by us! We'll have a TCA banner and hand out bottled water to the folks who are walking in the parade! Be sure to wear a TCA t-shirt if you can attend.

Finally, my heart is so full of gratitude, love, appreciation, and goodness after completing the first year of TCA with each of your children! I told someone yesterday that I feel like a homeschool mom of SEVEN now! They are all so very special to me and I couldn't be more honored or proud to be on this amazing journey with each one of you! God is so very kind to us! Enjoy your summer, rest, play, family, and such.

We Did It!
